Busy Saturday

As I am sitting here waiting for my laundry to finish I have a moment to look back over the busy week and the busy day ahead. It seems like this time of year is so hectic that I think we really forget the reason for the season. We attended the Christmas parade here on Thursday night. As we were standing there watching the floats go by and the parade goers yelling for candy to be thrown their way it didn't hit me until a float came by and we looked in the back and there were a man and woman holding a small child depicting the manager scene. I told my kids oh look they are Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus. They weren't throwing any candy or prizes just quietly riding their float and once in a while waving at the bystanders. That was the only float on the parade that gave any indication of what we are celebrating. How sad that in this country where we are so blessed that only one group had shown us the true Christmas meaning. I pray that God will help me to show more of the true Christmas spirit this holiday season.

Well we're off to the Christmas parade. We usually go to Natchitoches for the Festival of Lights but were unable to go this year so this will officially open our Christmas season. We are going to a Christmas program at the First Baptist Church in Lafayette on Saturday night so this should be enjoyable as well.
Happy Early Birthday to my wonderful husband who is attempting to catch up with me. He'll be the big 39 on Sunday. I love ya honey. You're the best!

Getting Started

I'm new at all this blogging but my computer savvy son is attempting to help his mother learn all the latest technology. I am looking forward to keeping up with friends and family through this blog site. Please let me know what you think. We are getting excited about Christmas here in Louisiana. I just wish the weather was more like Christmas. I would love to have some snow.
