Busy Saturday

As I am sitting here waiting for my laundry to finish I have a moment to look back over the busy week and the busy day ahead. It seems like this time of year is so hectic that I think we really forget the reason for the season. We attended the Christmas parade here on Thursday night. As we were standing there watching the floats go by and the parade goers yelling for candy to be thrown their way it didn't hit me until a float came by and we looked in the back and there were a man and woman holding a small child depicting the manager scene. I told my kids oh look they are Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus. They weren't throwing any candy or prizes just quietly riding their float and once in a while waving at the bystanders. That was the only float on the parade that gave any indication of what we are celebrating. How sad that in this country where we are so blessed that only one group had shown us the true Christmas meaning. I pray that God will help me to show more of the true Christmas spirit this holiday season.
